Caviar prices vary a lot. So where does that difference come from? Three things.
1. The species
Caviar comes from different species of sturgeon. Each has its own flavour, pearl size and colour, and some are far rarer than others.
2. Time
A sturgeon only produces caviar once it is mature. The longer that takes, the higher the price:
- Royal Baerii: around 7 years
- Oscietra: around 8 years
- Imperial and Royal Kaluga: 8 to 10 years
- Royal Beluga: around 14 years
3. Quality
Larger, firm pearls with an even colour and a clean taste are worth more. All our caviar is lightly salted using the Malossol method.
Our prices (30 g / 50 g tin)
- Royal Baerii: €36.20 / €65.80
- Imperial: €49 / €89
- Oscietra: €51 / €89
- Royal Kaluga: €66 / €114
- Royal Beluga: €96 / €190
Why we are a little cheaper
Our prices are deliberately set just below the average. We believe caviar should be within everyone's reach, not only for a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
